THE ROLE

We are now seeking an Advisor Sales Lead to spearhead our proactive advisor sales recruitment effort. Travel advising can be a side hustle - but it’s definitely a job that requires time and effort, especially in the beginning. We want to add thousands more advisors who see Fora as a new career - a source of meaning and identity, as well as fun. 

Over time, we see advisor growth as primarily a recruiting challenge at scale. How do we proactively build an engine to find, educate and close the right new advisors for the Fora community? How do we penetrate all of the industries, networks, and cities all across North America - and eventually beyond?  

This role will be a member of the leadership team and report directly to our Co-founder, Evan Frank. The right individual will be creative, structured, highly proactive and an excellent communicator. 

We are based in New York City and looking to build the core of our team there, so ideally you live in the area and can come join us for some days of the week in lower Manhattan.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Evaluate the sign up and qualification flow for the hundreds per month of prospective advisors who express interest in joining Fora
  • Understand how to best qualify site leads, so that they understand the nature of the work, and we understand the type of support they’ll need to be successful Fora advisors
  • Use your background & expertise in recruiting / sales / business development to formulate a strategy for attracting, qualifying, and closing the best travel advisors

 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a recruiting, sales or business development role at a consumer startup
  • Proven track record of success in closing
  • Experience creating sales material, both digital and print
  • Familiarity with web and data tools such as Excel, Zapier and Typeform 
  • Scrappiness and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude 
  • Creativity and originality
  • Organization and ability to manage multiple workstreams 
  • A natural ability to collaborate and build rapport
