About the Role

We are hiring a Technical Product Manager, Finance to lead the development of our financial products and features in our advisor portal and backend travel operations systems. This includes the many different payment integrations we have as a three-sided marketplace, including subscriptions, booking  travel, partner invoicing, and commission disbursement, among other interesting payment flows and future product ideas.

You will be the first dedicated PM for finance, interfacing across the organization, between finance, advisor experience, product, design, product ops, our third-party vendors, and engineering, guiding products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You will break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.  The role is perfect for a technical generalist with a strong technical background, with plenty of opportunity to assume responsibility and take on increased leadership as we grow.

Responsibilities

  • Launch new products and features, test their performance, and iterate quickly.
  • Conduct proof of concept investigations, determine what's possible, write detailed specifications to build features and solutions that involve highly technical components, such as integrations with 3rd party systems, API-driven features, and data & reporting across our platform.
  • Understand and explain complex technical issues, discern impact, and communicate them to maximize clarity and drive resolution.
  • Roll up your sleeves and dive into logs and data to understand how things are working and where improvements can be made.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, data, finance, support, design, and other teams.

About You

  • You have a Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience.
  • +5 years of work experience across technical product management, software engineering, or data engineering.
  • Extensive experience defining projects, driving requirements, coordinating teams, and launching products & features in an agile environment.
  • You have a strong empathy for the user, and can balance the needs of technical solutions with user experience and impact.
  • Ability to architect, manage, and manipulate data, comfortable with SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and scripting (Python is a plus). 
  • Understanding of synchronous and asynchronous data processes, REST APIs, ETL, JSON/XML, the importance of and techniques to verify, validate, and clean data, and experience architecting reliable integrations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are obsessive about details and being meticulously organized is a key to your success.
  • An ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias for action.
  • A true team player, good collaborator, and trustworthy colleague.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with the travel agent industry, travel distribution / suppliers, or other travel tools/systems a plus. 
  • Experience with fintech or payments is a plus.
  • Experience with ML/AI is a plus.

Compensation

  • $130-150k + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
